Cloud backup, explained
Copies that matter.
A recovery plan you understand.
Cloud backup holds recovery copies away from the original system, so agreed information can be restored after deletion, corruption or another incident. What is protected, how often it is copied and how long it is retained all need defining.
Radian helps review files, servers, virtual workloads and supported cloud applications. The plan should cover protection settings, administrator access, monitoring and restore tests, rather than stopping at a successful backup notification.

The features that matter, with the practical details made clear.
Set backup frequency around workload changes and acceptable data loss. Include how failed or missed jobs are handled.
Review encryption in transit and storage, administrator permissions and key-management responsibilities for the service.
Keep an agreed recovery copy apart from the primary environment. Confirm storage location and separation from live administration.
Explore item-level and image-based protection for compatible workloads, with application consistency and restore requirements checked.
Review supported Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data. Confirm exactly which services and items are covered.
Where recovery needs more than stored copies, explore a separately scoped service to run important systems in another environment.
Service availability, equipment, features, licences and support scope are confirmed in your proposal. Optional services are priced and agreed separately.
The picture, made clearer
Backup and restoration shown as a simplified sequence. Actual coverage, copy locations and recovery times depend on the agreed service.
Illustrative recovery workflow. Protected workloads, copy locations and restore objectives are confirmed in the service design.
Make an informed choice
List workloads, data owners and application requirements. Check supported agents, versions, storage and cloud-service coverage.
The recovery point objective describes acceptable data loss, measured in time. Backup frequency and successful completion affect the achievable result.
The recovery time objective describes the target time to restore useful operation. Data volume, connectivity and dependencies influence a real restore.
The practical details
A stored copy and a running alternative system are different outcomes. Design the service around the one your business needs.
Plan your setup ↗A lost document, failed server and unavailable site call for different recovery steps.
Confirm permissions, keys, applications and network access needed to recover successfully.
Ask about protected or immutable copies, isolation and compatible active protection. Confirm what is included and avoid treating backup as a guarantee against attacks.
From enquiry to everyday use
List data, applications and recovery priorities.
Agree frequency, retention, location and access.
Configure the service and confirm backup completion.
Test restores and maintain a practical recovery record.
A little more clarity
Have a question about your setup?
Tell us what you want to achieve.
No. A synchronised change or deletion can appear in several places. Backup uses agreed recovery points and retention for restoration.
Supported cloud-to-cloud options can be discussed. We confirm the covered services, data, licences and retention for your chosen package.
Item-level recovery may be available for supported workloads. We check the required restore task when designing the service.
Not automatically. Disaster recovery can include alternate running systems, orchestration and failback, with its own scope and testing.
There is no universal time. We agree objectives and test representative restores around data size, connectivity and application dependencies.
Protection varies by platform and configuration. Restricted administration, suitable retention and isolated or immutable copies can form part of a wider security design.
UK-wide service enquiries
For UK offices and distributed teams, identify which workloads need protection and how quickly they must be restored. Storage location, retention, access controls, backup scope and restore testing belong in the agreed plan.
Based in Charlwood, we welcome enquiries nationwide, with a particular focus on Horley, Crawley, Gatwick, Surrey, Sussex and London. Delivery, availability and any site attendance are confirmed for your chosen service.
